Ah, it’s once again time to get your yard cleaned up in time for spring. Here are a few tips you might just love…
Want to put an end to that backbreaking bending over during yard work? Try some big plastic leaf scoops to make light yard debris pick-up easy! Sturdy reusable yard bags are a lightweight way to load and transport that yard waste. You can even get what they call a dustpan bag, which has a flat edge so that you can lay it on its side for easy scooping…and leaf tote bags are great for a quick finish to smaller yard clean-up jobs. Then just use a leaf blower for a picture-perfect finish!
Don’t forget to treat your soil with nutrient-rich compost so that your plants will thrive when it comes time to dig in that dirt! Remember that you want your first lawn fertilization in mid-April and then hit it again in summer and early fall. There are soil test kits that make yard fertilization easy too by letting you know just where your pH and moisture levels stand.
Trees should be fertilized before buds break because this is when they need the most “fuel”. Just remember not to fertilize them too late in the year because you don’t want to promote new growth before a cold snap, which could damage that foliage you love so well.
