There are some pretty cool landscaping ideas trending right now…
One is using plants and flowers with dark leaves and blooms to add drama to your landscaping. Dark green and purples are especially dramatic and you can also create a hybrid of this idea by adding a few brightly colored blooms within your newly fashioned foliage.
Shade gardens are also big this year. We love our warm and sunny Florida weather, but we also enjoy a shady respite from time to time. So you might consider planting a shade garden to make that respite even more irresistible. Ferns and begonias are beautiful additions and they thrive here in Florida.
Another landscaping trend is that some homeowners are removing their lawns and opting for pretty stone or low-maintenance gravel yards. Just imagine no mowing or gas necessary, no harmful or costly chemicals needed and very little work required!
Pollinator plantings to attract our dwindling butterfly and honey bee population will not only provide a natural boost to the plants in your yard, it is a generous gift to the planet.
Flower pot displays are also trending. These are a versatile, mobile way to work flowers and plants into your landscaping scheme. They are pretty in clusters on patios or around your pool. Set the social scene with flower pots around a cozy seating area just like you would set your table for guests. Change pots, move pots…you decide! Planting some plants in pots is also helpful for stowing and saving your favorites when we get those nasty (Should I even say the word?) hurricanes.
