Driveway Landscape Ideas

First impressions are lasting. So, does your driveway landscaping pass muster? If not, you may want to…

Add instant curb appeal cost-effectively with a garden running along the length of a gravel driveway. For this particular project, choose plants or flowers that don’t require too much watering which could saturate your gravel. Ornamental grasses would work well.

Or create a pretty pathway from your existing driveway to your front door using geometric pavers. Large light gray squares set inside a bed of smaller, slightly darker gray stones, and lined with matching rectangular pavers. Of course, you can choose whatever colors provide the best finishing touches for your home.

If you’re looking for some pizzazz, how about a flower box at the end of your driveway? You could go all out and run it all the way along the exterior of your home or maybe just jazz things up a little with a box on either side at the end of your driveway. You can pick flowers that pop, low maintenance shrubbery or change your plantings with the seasons.

Another way to add eye-catching appeal around your driveway is to plant flowering bushes amidst the contrast of large rocks. If you prefer flowers, lavender is a nice option because it stands up well to our Florida sun and it smells great!

If you are more of a minimalist with a clean look in mind and you live in a hot, sunny place (like most of us), consider lining your driveway with succulents or cacti planted within a bed of stone. With a weed barrier underneath, this option should require virtually no upkeep.
